OTESSA is an association that supports and shares new knowledge, research, and innovation in practice as it pertains to the application of technology and openness across K12, post-secondary, and other relevant sectors where learning and knowledge sharing are required.

The mission of OTESSA is to support networking both nationally and internationally to build relationships, support and professional partnerships, enhance communications, share resources, and encourage innovation. OTESSA will support the development of new research, promote research opportunities, and disseminate and apply research results. We will strive to inform policy and practice regionally, provincially, nationally, and internationally.

    The Open/Technology in Education, Society, and Scholarship Association (OTESSA) journal is a peer-reviewed journal that welcomes papers on all aspects of educational technology, including online learning, technology-mediated learning, social media, open education, digital and open scholarship, emerging technologies for learning or research, and other topics or interdisciplinary ways in which technology and society intersect.

  • 2020 Open/Technology in Education, Society, and Scholarship Association Conference

    Open/Technology in Education, Society, and Scholarship Association (OTESSA) organizes a conference during the annual conference of the Federation of the Humanities and Social Sciences, also known as Congress. Congress is the convergence of over 70 scholarly associations, each holding their annual conference, and is Canada’s largest gathering of researchers, scholars, graduate students, and practitioners with approximately 8,000 attendees. The mandate of the OTESSA conference is to build connections with respect to the application of technology and open across K12, post-secondary, and other spaces where learning and knowledge sharing happens.
